Affiliate Brand Guidelines
A practical standard for representing Smoke Checked accurately, lawfully, and with the same authenticity the brand expects from itself.
Approved affiliates will receive the final version and authorized brand assets during onboarding.
Brand Position
Smoke Checked is a veteran-apparel brand grounded in military culture, shared experience, dark humor, pride in service, and genuine community. Promotions should feel direct, honest, confident, and human.
Use Your Own Voice
Explain why a product or the brand matters to you. Personal experience is welcome when it is truthful. Never invent service history, product results, testimonials, scarcity, or official endorsements.
Disclose Every Affiliate Promotion
Clearly disclose that you may earn a commission. Put the disclosure where people will notice it before or beside the recommendation, code, or link—not only in a profile, footer, or hidden group of hashtags.
Acceptable examples: “I may earn a commission if you purchase with my link or code.” “Paid affiliate link.” “#ad” when it is prominent and understandable in context.
Approved Claims
- State the actual product name, current price, material, size, color, and availability shown by Smoke Checked.
- State the approved customer discount and commission relationship only after your code is activated.
- Use current official product details and correct expired information promptly.
Never Claim
- Guaranteed savings, earnings, outcomes, shipping dates, or product availability.
- Official endorsement by a military branch, the Department of Defense, or a government agency.
- That you are a Smoke Checked employee, spokesperson, agent, partner, or representative.
- Claims about a product you have not used as though based on personal experience.
Logos and Artwork
- Use only files supplied or expressly approved by Smoke Checked.
- Keep logos legible with sufficient clear space and contrast.
- Preserve proportions, colors, orientation, and complete artwork.
- Do not crop, stretch, redraw, recolor, animate, outline, add effects, or combine logos with another mark without written approval.
Product Images
- Use approved imagery or your own truthful photographs of genuine products.
- Do not materially edit the garment, artwork placement, color, fit, or condition.
- Do not imply that a mockup or unreleased item is available for purchase.
- Remove or replace an asset if Smoke Checked withdraws approval.
Codes and Links
- Present your code exactly as issued.
- Do not alter the destination or obscure the affiliate nature of a link.
- Do not publish codes to unauthorized coupon sites, extensions, deal feeds, or automated tools.
- Do not encourage self-referrals, false orders, or transactions intended mainly to generate commission.
Paid Promotion
- Do not bid on “Smoke Checked,” confusing variations, domains, slogans, or product names in paid search without written approval.
- Do not run ads that appear to be official Smoke Checked advertisements.
- Do not use misleading redirects, pop-ups, forced clicks, cookie stuffing, or tracking manipulation.
Community Conduct
Military humor can be direct, but promotions may not include unlawful discrimination, threats, harassment, hate, exploitation, impersonation, misinformation, or content that reasonably damages the brand or its community.
Email and Messaging
Do not send spam or unlawful email or SMS promotions. Obtain legally required consent, identify yourself accurately, provide required opt-out tools, and honor opt-outs. Never claim a message was sent by Smoke Checked.
Questions and Approval
When a planned promotion, asset edit, paid campaign, giveaway, or claim is not clearly allowed, obtain written approval before publishing. Contact affiliates@smokechecked.com.
Enforcement
Smoke Checked may request corrections or removal and may suspend or terminate an affiliate for misuse, fraud, legal risk, or repeated noncompliance. Final decisions and financial handling follow the legally approved Affiliate Program Terms.
